About us

Welcome! Redwood Empire Endurance Riders (REER) is a Northern California club of friends who share an interest in distance riding and horses. Some of us want to cover miles and ride long distances, while others are interested in enjoying the day and sharing their experience with other riders on the trails in the redwood forests and along the Pacific Ocean. Other friends enjoy just being with horses and club activities. REER hosts three sanctioned endurance rides each year with five days of riding. Our longest held ride, the two-day Chalk Rock Ride, on a private ranch near Bridgeville, California, will not be held for 2026 and possibly next year. There is active timber harvest plan affecting our trails and access. It's the club's intention to bring this very special and beloved ride back as soon as we can. The first ride of the season, Chalk Rock Ride, two days, historically over the Memorial Weekend on a private ranch near Bridgeville, California. The first ride of 2026 is our TWO DAY, Redwood Ride. Ride 50-miles or a limited distance of 25-35 miles through the ancient, giant redwood forest on trails quiet as a whisper as well as old maintenance roads in the Redwoods National and State Parks located at Orick, California. This bucket list ride delivers on spectacular canopy views of a dynamic and varied forest, you will not be disappointed. We finish the season in September with TWO DAYS at the Cuneo Creek Ride in Humboldt Redwoods State Park near Weott, California. Some choose the 50-mile distance and ride all day. All events offer a shorter distance of 25 to 35-miles. All rides are sanctioned by the American Endurance Riding Conference and are featured on their ride calendar. CALLING ALL RIDERS! REER is teaming up with Marci Cook and the Lake Sonoma ride to give you more options!!
